Matt Ogelsby's West Coast Cup 6/19~6/20

Looks like PLC is planning to send a U13 and U15 team to the inaugural West Coast Cup.

Wondering what kind of participation we are going to get for this LAX tournament.
It would be great if we can get some So-Cal or out of state clubs to play.

Anyone know of the commitments so far?

It looks like we have some So-Cal clubs coming for this event.

I was registering my son for the event, and these were the clubs that showed up in the "Team Identification"
I guess these are clubs that have registered for the event.

FCA So Cal
FCA So Cal 15
L Town Sharks
NorCal TABU
Orange County LC
Pleasanton Hurricanes
Pleasanton Thunder
Town

Any idea where "L town" is?

Any reports on the first day of the West Coast Cup?

Not sure about the rest of the tourny but the L town sharks finished today 1-1 with a win over a city team and a loss to the "ballers" who had a few serra guys suited up. L-town is made up of lamorinda and town players. They were supposed to play three games today but a scorpion team backed out last second. I'm looking forward to the second round!

NorCal TABU beat FCA to win the U15 championship game. NorCal TABU went undefeated the whole tourney. L Town Sharks (kids from Lamo and Town primarily) gave them a run in the semi game this morning but TABU prevailed to move on. Great event this weekend. Thanks Matt O and All West for a great tourney!

Congratulations to Norcal TABU! There's lots of good players on that team. I hear that they might keep that team together and go down to Desert Palm in the fall. I hope so as that would continue to enhance the travel team opportunities for our Nor Cal kids.

Thanks to Matt for putting on this tournament. I would have really like to have participated, but I had some scheduling conflicts. We had a couple of our Pleasanton teams over there and several Pleasanton players on Norcal TABU. From all of the reports I am hearing it was a good tournament and fun for all.

With the Bay Area Super Series over Memorial Day and the West Coast Cup last weekend I think we are seeing that summer tournaments are viable in Northern California. I predicted a couple of years back that summer tournaments would be the next logical step in the growth of Nor Cal lacrosse and we're seeing those first steps this year. I think this is a really good thing and gets more players out playing and having fun in new venues. This can only make us better.
