PLC fan You won't find any info on Team Talon because it is a hush, hush team. Contact
Doug Appelton with the FIrehawks and he can put you in the right direction. If you trying to
get a spot on it, good luck on that.

Luvlax,

Just thinking about next year/summer...
I didn't know if it was more of a "invite" team or "try-out" team.

I know there are a few kids from PLC on Team Talon, I'll contact their parents for more info.

I am not sure how a team can be hush hush when they have try outs, which they did with over 50 players invited and then picked players from a number of different clubs in the area. Also, the roster for that team was posted in this same thread. That does not appear to be too hush hush.

The team is coached by Todd French, who coaches for the Scorpions.

chmdave:

You're right on the mark about the South Bay Crusaders players. Several of their guys play a lot of box down at Shaydon Santos' Box Lacrosse Academy in San Jose, and it shows. Several of our Petaluma kids played with them up in Canada last summer, so we got to see their skills firsthand. Great players (and kids) that would easily make Festival and Vail teams.

Andreas is indeed taking a bunch of them up to Canada again this summer, so I'm under the assumption that's where the conflict comes from. Their team (Bantam) will be the only one of the 5 California teams heading up that will compete in an "A" bracket...

I looked around for any mention of a Vail team tryout or roster after I overheard comments at the NorCal tryouts. It took some digging before I found any mention and what I found was only a calendar item on the Firehawks site and a congratuations message to kids on the Scorpion site. No publicly available tryout announcement, no links to tryout information, no roster listing. Surprisingly, I know of U13 coaches who were not even notified about the tryouts for this team, so it seems this team intended to limit access to and competition at the tryouts. Not a big deal if that is what they want to do, it is a private team. This approach certainly does, however, seem hush hush, especially since those two club typically post a ton of information on their sites. I don't know why the "radio silence" on this but maybe they just haven't gotten around to posting the info, or thinking through how to market this new private team concept. Or then again, maybe that is exactly what they are doing.
