LAS LOMAS VARSITY AND JV COACH POSITIONS OPEN

Postby Wheels » Wed Sep 30, 2009 9:15 pm

Las Lomas High School is looking for Varsity and JV Boys Lacrosse Coaches for 2010. After four years, Charlie Jackson is moving on to a great opportunity at Chico State, we wish him well. Our program has grown steadily over the last several years, culminating in our first NCS Tournament selection last season. This is a terrific opportunity to work with a quality program, a wonderful group of boys and a very supportive parent group and school community. We invite all interested head coach applicants who have a passion for lacrosse and preferably at least three years of coaching experience to contact us. We are also interested in hearing from applicants who have an interest in assistant coaching positions.

For more information, please contact Rob Rutan at rob.rutan@astound.net or Tim Kruger at TKruger@acalanes.k12.ca.us. To fill out an application, please go the district website (http://www.acalanes.k12.ca.us/hr/ -- Coach Employment Application). Thanks.

I'd like to add a thought to the Las Lomas Varsity and JV coaching opportunities. Las Lomas draws most of its players from the Walnut Creek Warriors Youth club. Warriors boys teams in the U15, U13, and U11 divisions did well in the 2009 season, with four of their five teams having winning records. In addition, the Warriors had two U9 teams (no win/loss records available), so the future looks bright for a continuing inflow of seasoned players. The coaches I've met from the Warriors are excellent, so the boys are getting good training on fundamentals and team theory.

Parent support is strong at both the High School and Youth levels, with several former college players involved. All in, this is an excellent place for High School coaches to put down roots and build a program.
