Any update on this event? Can't find anything on the internet and I'd like to be sure local and nearby clubs keep that date open for travel to SF.

Please confirm or update with link or more info.

Thanks.

This looks like an awesome event--Johns Hopkins and Notre Dame! Does anyone know if tickets are reserved or general admission. I missed it last year, but heard it was a great event.

Re: 2010 San Francisco Fall Classic Oct 16

it is a great event.

The date is October 16. The game time is 3pm. A coaches' clinic starts at 11:30 and a youth clinic begins at 12:00. The website has information about registration for the clinics (participants must have a ticket and pre-register).

The website is http://www.sflacrosse.com/.

Tickets can be purchased via the website. This year a limited number of reserved tickets are available.

The event benefits the Bay Area Youth Sports Foundation http://www.sfbays.org/ which provides grants to youth sports programs in San Francisco, Oakland, East Palo Alto, and other bay area communities.

This is the only opportunity to see NCAA Division 1 Men's Lacrosse in California. Every player, parent, and fan should be there.

Today's the day! Should be a great game. Yesterday, both teams practiced at Saint Ignatius in preparation for the big event. Here is a picture of each team during their practice:

Anyone know the attendance figure for yesterday's San Francisco Fall Classic? Looked like a pretty sizable crowd to me, but I'd like to know the official attendance number.

Greg Angilly's article in Inside Lacrosse says that there were over 6,000 in attendance, which jibes pretty well with what I heard from Braden Edwards on game day.

Here's the link to the article: http://insidelacrosse.com/news/2010/10/ ... se-classic

I was really impressed by the size and speed of both teams, and by Notre Dame's defense. Always talking, always looking to double, second slide always there, really, really active close defenders.

Congratulations to the game organizers -- I hope this game is a fixture in Caifornia for years to come.

I was also surprised at how small some of those guys were. The #45 attack for Hopkins was REALLY GOOD, but he only stood about 5' 7". I thought he was the best attack player on the field for Hopkins in spite of his size. The #8 attack wasn't much bigger. It's a good reminder that there is a spot on the lacrosse field for skilled players no matter their size.
