Dirty Slick Balls

Dirty Slick Balls

Postby Bay Area Lax » Sun May 24, 2009 12:22 pm

Does anyone have any tips or tricks for cleaning dirty lacrosse balls or how to make them not so slick? They are still solid balls, but it is such a pain to have a dozen balls that are so slick they slip right out of your stick. Plus having refs be annoyed that your balls are dirty, what are you supposed to do if your team practices on grass all week ](*,)
Thanks!

If you have an electric sander, I have seen over 50 balls go from grey and shiny back to a nice matt white. easy sanding away at the edges will do the trick, although I'm not sure if they are still considered regulation.

Just for anyone who wants to know. I sanded the balls down enough to get the dirt off without effecting the dimensions of the ball and it totally worked. The balls look and feel like new, thanks The Next Pass.

another way to give the balls their original grip back is to put them in a pool if accesible for around 24 hours.
