It is in fact official Joe Rabinowitz the former head coach at Bishop O Dowd has been named to run the highly successful Mustang boy's lacrosse program for 2016. He will hold an informational meeting with parents at the school on Sept 29th to discuss his program and the upcoming 2016 season. Coach Rabinowitz will inherit a very seasoned talented successful group of kids from the Mustang team of 2015 who were runner-up to SRV last year both in the EBAL and Nor Cal Div 1 championships.

I should think they will be favorites to win it all in 2016 as DLS will be rebuilding and lack depth. SRV will be very strong defensively with almost all its starters back but lose all but one attack men and all starting middies and starting goalie. The Mustangs have the most talent retuning among the contenders and their JV's went 13-3 beating both DLS and SRV. Of course those high expectations will put a lot of pressure on the new coach. With new coaches at both DLS and at Monte Vista 2016 should be a fun season to watch.

It should be noted that in the EBAL this fall I believe all the major programs( ie DLS, SRV, MV, Amador and Foothill) have many of their kids participating in Indoor and Box lacrosse leagues. How things change as the game is becoming a year round sport for many of the serious lacrosse players and these pickup fall teams become more and more a mere extension of the high school programs in the schools at which those kids attend. SI has been doing if for years with their Fog City fall and winter squads.
