Amador wins 7-6 as Monte Vista makes it close with 2 goals in last 30 seconds and final shot of game attempting to tie.

Well Frieders3
I would say that was a bit of a surprise that would fit into this thread of "Any Surprises in 2015". Monte Vista was coming off a solid win over DLS 14-9 the week before. Amador finally played a tough team in DLS back on 4/17 and lost 11-7. That was followed by a 9-3 loss to SRV. So no one saw that coming. I would like to hear more about the game. MV had played well since their nonconference loss 14-4 back on 3/16 to SRV . It appeared their EBAL last game of the season next Friday against SRV would be for the EBAL championship and MV could challenge the Wolves. Not so sure now as SRV methodically took apart DLS last night in Concord 14-6. They should be heavy favorites to win the EBAL and probably North Coast. Their early season loss by only two to SI 13-11 appears to be more significant each week. The Wolves outscored SI 8-5 in the second half of that game and had the momentum. It didn't seem that important at the time but now it appears that probably the two top teams in Nor Cal resolved who was number one in the first game of the season on Feb 28th. Amador can't win EBAL as they have two losses. Should MV upset the Wolves in the game to be played at SRV Friday nite May 8th they would end in a tie for first place with SRV. That would be an upset and another surprise for 2015. Not likely but certainly possible. It should be a great game of Nor Cal lacrosse. Good to see "ghost" has stated a new thread on the seeding's for playoffs. Great!!

Playoffs
Can a Sacramento area team win it all-in Div 1 or will it be another all EBAL final between either SRV, MV, DLS or Amador? There are no challengers in Div 1 from Marin this year. Looks like Acalanes,Piedmont and a weaker Marin Catholic to battle it out in Div 2. Any one else a challenger??

Petaluma has a good record, but it appears they haven't played any strong teams except Granite Bay (their two losses). No one else stands out...Novato somehow beat Acalanes, but they've lost a lot of games.

No surprises last night in Danville as the SRV Wolves once again handily defeated Monte Vista 15-8 thus winning the EBAL championship being undefeated in league play and laying claim to the number 1 seed in the NCS div 1 tournament.
MV came to play winning the first faceoff and in fast break scored the first goal. SRV cam back to tie it 1-1. Shortly thereafter MV scored to take the lead 2-1. It would be their last lead of the night. The Wolves lead 3-2 after the first qrt. and the game stayed close with SRV having a 5-4 lead at the half. MV was controlling the ball in face-offs and SRV spent a lot of time on defense in the first half.

The Mustangs tied it to begin the third qrt 5-5 but after that it was all SRV. Austin French the Wolves senior captain was on fire and unstoppable scoring on the most amazing shots seven times to lead the Wolves. At the end of 3 qrts the Wolves lead by four 10-6. Like the first game between the two won by SRV 14-4 the fourth qtr.was also all San Ramon. This was senior night at SRV and there was a large crowd on hand including students. The Wolves went on to win it 15-8. No doubt they will be the team to beat in the NCS and being the number 1 seed will have the home field advantage throughout the playoffs. These two old rivals will surely meet again in the playoffs. SRV appears to be the better team but it is tough to beat any team three times in a row. SRV is however next to SI a very deep and talented squad. Maybe the best that SRV has ever fielded. SI won the first game of the season with SRV on Feb 28th 13-11. Too bad they couldn't play a game at the end of this season. SI would again be favored but it would be a dandy!
