Any Surpises Yet in 2015?

SI win ... just a matter of time.
Always hard to win back East as certain of the powerhouses tend to have PG (postgrads ... essentially freshman yr college) playing for them.

Regardless, top talent on West Coast is definitely on par with East.
Just look at travel teams like West Coast Starz and Alcatraz Outlaws, who both tend to do VERY well in east coast tournaments.

With continued growth on West Coast in terms of programs ... and more players getting recruited by East Coast colleges & doing well in collegiate programs ... the press and even Quint Kessenich will have to admit the tide continues to shift.

Further proof is look at just how good U of Denver is ... and they have a ton of west coast (US & Canada) players.
Their coach Tierney (long time coach at Princeton when they were powerhouse) saw writing on wall and headed west years ago.

Maybe some of the East Coast teams will come out to California to play ... let them endure the cross country travel for a change.

SI lost to Gonzaga 12-9. Overall a great tour by the Cats.

Anyone know if the SI @ Monte Vista game Saturday has a JV game or just a varsity game? Monte Vista shows 5:00pm game time. Was interested in seeing this but wanted to verify varsity game time start. Thanks.

Only SI can hang with the big boys from the East. They have the players and coaches to match up with the east. SI may not have a deep bench like east coast teams but their starters are excellent. Coaching makes a big difference, too.

IMO, the west has a long way to go still.

I don't believe an East coast team would want to come out to play West coast talent because they could easily drive their cars or ride a bus for 1/2 hour and play nationally ranked players and teams every week, and not have to fly 2500 miles and spend a lot of money to play lower level talent.

SI got a great win over a nationally ranked team who was the real deal. SI is legit. But other than SI, what Norcal teams (HS or youth) are really good enough to handle an East coast nationally ranked team?

SI 14-9 final

SI jumped to early 2-0 lead and MV tied at 2-2 but SI 5-2 after 1st quarter and then stretched it out to 9-5 at half and 13-5 into the 3rd.

Anyone have a report from last night's Acalanes-DLS game (DLS won 9-7)?

Yes, I saw the game Tuesday night, the first HS game I've seen this year. The quality of play seems at least a little down from what I've been used to especially from DLS. Acalanes actually may have been more athletic, but struggled to make good passes and catch them. The game was fairly tight the entire way although DLS never trailed, was for the most part one or two goal difference. From what I've read/heard, DLS will have their hands full with SRV tomorrow night. PS...DLS new goalie (don't know his name) played very well-especially for a kid who was playing JV middie or attack three weeks ago...
