College Commitments for NorCal 2012 Grads

This thread is the place to post college commitments made by 2012 NorCal grads. Nothing to announce yet, but I have a feeling 2012 will be a big year for NorCal recruits. As usual, no speculation about commitments - or announcement of commitments - without the approval of the family or until the commitment shows up on LaxPower or Inside Lacrosse. Patrick Worstell, the fine rising Junior midfielder from San Ramon Valley High School, made a verbal commitment to Head Coach John Desko of Syracuse University on July 27th. Patrick's family OK'ed this announcement.

That is so exciting. Congratulations to Patrick. I've admired him ever since he gave me a concussion in the 8th grade. His sniper is a force to be reckoned with.

Inside Lacrosse just published their list of the top 50 rising Juniors in the country. Two NorCal boys showed up on the list - Patrick Worstell at 37th and Mike Tagliaferri at 43rd. Congrats to these NorCal guys for being named to this list.

I believe this is the first time ever that two NorCal players have appeared on the same Top 50 list. Am I wrong?

I just heard from John Tagliaferri that son Michael has verbally committed to UNC Head Coach Joe Breschi. I'm very excited for Mike, who is an exceptional lacrosse player. Like Patrick Worstell, Mike was named one of the Top 50 lacrosse players in the Class of 2012 by Inside Lacrosse magazine. Astounding that the only two players from California on the Top 50 list play the same position and attend the same High School.

Michael is a hyper-athletic player with a unique combination of size, speed, strength and skills. He has quick feet, quick hands and a quick release. Not surprising that UNC and a number of other schools were so high on him. Congratulations to this terrific player!

Congratulations to both Patrick and Mikey Tags. A couple of outstanding players and terrific representatives to carry the California Grizzly flag onto the national stage.
