MV takes down SRV 8-7. Good, well played game!
What if the hokey-pokey IS what its all about?

I was specatating so don't have much in the way of stats, but can give you my impressions.

Both goalies looked good and made some point blank saves. I think MV's goaltender, Gus Gradinger had more impact on the game. In addition to making a number of great saves, he is calm and cool in the cage and a real leader on the field. He is also very athletic, at one point bringing the ball across midfield on a shutt-off, into SRV's restraining box and winging a side-arm pass to a MV middy on the crease who dunked the shot for a goal. In the process he out-ran all of SRV's middies down the field.

I thought SRV's Jordan Weiss looked good. He had a couple of goals on good drives and shots. If I remember correctly one drive/shot was left handed and one was right handed so he showed some versatality as well. Peter Tagliaferi looked really good on FO, winning a high percentage of the faces. He also controls the ball really well when he picks it up. I think he had a goal or two as well.

MV did a very good job of controlling the ball and dictating the tempo of the game. They scored both on outside shots and inside shots, on ISOs and feeds from X, spreading the scoring around quite a bit. Mostly though they did a good job of keeping SRVs offense on the sidelines. They also slid early and quickly to SRVs usual big guns, limiting the damage they could do. They played very well as a team.
