Why is the lower seed hosting this game?

Same reason Novato's hosting Miramonte in the Division 2 tournament. Berkeley and Novato are league champions, and host non-champion teams until eliminated.

Predictions, predictions, who's got predictions?

I don't know that either of these teams is terribly deep, but think the Wolves' front line strength will carry the day against the Yellowjackets, I'd say by 7 or 8.

San Ramon is not very deep, but their first line is frighteningly good. They have good athletes that can unload at any time. In some ways they are similar to Bellarmine in this regard. SRV also took DLS to overtime in their last meeting. Berkeley lost to both Bellarmine and DLS by good margins this year. San Ramon by 7.

Berkeley played a reasonably demanding schedule, ranked #12 by Laxpower is strength of schedule, including De La Salle, Bellarmine, Acalanes, University, and Redwood. It's just that those were all of the teams who beat the Yellowjackets.

But I see Numbersman and I have made a virtually identical prediction, anyway.

And I agree, the Wolves front line is indeed frightening. Here comes trouble. . . .

I agree with both of you. Berkeley's offense is high-octane, and their goalie is great. Their defense, though, is young & inexperienced, despite a ton of natural ability. That's what's been exposed in their losses, and a strong attack with complicated schemes will probably be more than they can handle.

SRV's middies (mostly one) dodge from the top and shoot. It's not very complicated.
