Prediction: This is one of the weekend's more interesting match ups. The Highlanders beat Marin Catholic 18-8 early in the season, but after dropping their first two games, the Wildcats won 13 of their next 14, losing only to Bellarmine Prep, at the Langkammerer, 13-11. Then they got thumped 11-5 by Novato in the MCAL tournament -- after having taken the Hornets' measure in mid-April, 12-9. The Highlanders couldn't get over on Berkeley, which won all three games, but Piedmont was 13-6 over the rest of its schedule. Which Wildcats will show up? Which Highlanders?

I'm picking the Highlanders in a one-goal upset, on the theory that their midfield has a little more left in the tank. But that's all it is. Just a theory.

No upset here. Marin Catholic will host Miramonte in a semi-final game on Wednesday.
