Prediction: The Dons have been cooling their heels all week, whereas the Cardinal had a heart stopper against the Sir Francis Drake Pirates in overtime in round one, and must be feeling pretty battle tested right now. Acalanes has had bigger players, and they've had some individuals who might have stood out more, but this is one of the best Acalanes teams I've seen, and they play extremely well together. I think the Dons can be taken, but not by Newman. I think Laxpower has this one about right. Acalanes to the semi-finals with a six goal win over a tough and extremely game Cardinal Newman squad, who will make them earn it.

Cardinal Newman has not ventured to the east bay this year. Acalanes has played a tough schedule this year very successfully. Acalanes at home by 4.
What if the hokey-pokey IS what its all about?

Final - Acalanes 12, Cardinal Newman 3

Good play by Acalanes tonight. Chris Lee was impressive in handling most of the scoring, while Trevor Felt did a stellar job on faceoffs and groundballs. Ryan Mitchell anchored the defense and was active all over the field. Robbie Stern was held in check a bit, though he did let loose a nice left crank on man up.

For Newman, Zach Halliday was maybe their most impressive player. A sophomore defenseman with good instincts, he covered Rob Stern on close man to man almost the entire night, and was able to keep the large skilled attackman in check for the most part. James Burton, a midfield/attackman, also impressed as a triple threat on face offs, scoring and playing good short stick defense.
