Lax movie "Warriors Heart"

I thought I would check Netflix to see if "Crooked Arrows" was available for streaming. It wasn't, but it offered another suggestion.

"Warriors Heart" from 2011. It had barely more than 2 stars, and I thought I would pass on it, but I let it play while doing other things at my desk.

I have to say, I think I liked it better than Crooked Arrows. CA had slightly better production values, and a B list star or two, but Warriors Heart felt more, well, heartfelt in it's message. It also seemed a little more relevant to the lacrosse world as we know it.

It concerns a high school player in the west (yes the west coast!) whose military father enrolls him in an east coast prep school to improve his chances of getting into the Naval Academy. The east coast coach even makes a crack about how lax is played in the west. I don't want to say too much about the story, but it is touching.

Like many sports stories, it is a bit simplistic. But it does take on the meaning of the game nicely.

I would definitely recommend it. =D>
