Traffic Numbers

Postby backdoor » Tue Feb 15, 2005 7:55 pm

Here are the numbers for Dec, Jan and Feb. Although they're not huge by any means, they show dramatic growth. I hope we continue to grow and become THE place for NorCal lacrosse information.

Daily averages:

Hits Visits
Dec 2004 1617 55
Jan 2005 2747 104
Feb 2005 4789 161

For those of you that don't know the difference between hits and visits: a hit is counted every time someone clicks on a page or link. A visit is considered to be a unigue time period that the same user browses the site. They might be on the site for 10 minutes, and look at 10 different pages but it counts as one visit. They come back an hour later, a new visit.

You can see that the traffic has tripled since December. I'd expect as practices are getting going and word spreads, there will be more users signing up and posting. I'm anxious to see the final Feb numbers and March.

It took a while for this forum to get off the ground but now it’s the first place I “visitâ€

That's great! I'll continue to promote it and I'm counting on word of mouth. It would be nice if we had more variety of participants. It seems we have a group of regular high school players, some coaches and some parents. It'd be nice to get some college players participating and some ladies. Perhaps, our one or two pro players will come back every here and there.

New Traffic Stats: And I should say, this is the entire domain, which includes the Backdoor Goals site, which is nearly insignificant in the number of hits compared to the forum

Daily Averages:
Month :Hits ::Visits
Feb :4902 ::173 (Feb numbers on previous post were partial month)
March :12922 :: 401

Monthly hits, December: 29,114, March::400,612, that's roughly 13 times the usage over a 4 month period.

I'm kindof surprised that the Womens High School site has been so inactive. Women's LAX is certainly competitive in the Bay Area and there are lots of rivalries. Any thoughts on why there is not much posting activity there?

I suppose it's been exposure. I emailed the girls/womens coaches like I did the boy/men's. Maybe there's so many more boys/mens teams. Also, I have many more connections with the boys side having played and coached. Word of mouth is probably the biggest factor. And until we get a few key lady users spreading the word, it'll probably remain quiet.

We have Grizz, Billax and Lax Daddy Man jawing at people all the time about the site. Thanks to them, this site really took off as of late. Plus, it helps when you have some of the top players and coaches using it.

i'm tired of seeing that feb 06 - 21 most ever visitors thing. I can't believe it got that high in the first place back then, but i'm surprised it hasen't been broken now. The most i've seen in like 12 or something.

I know, I keep thinking the same thing. But, as Billax pointed out somewhere, that happened during the Super Bowl. Hmmm......
