Stealth and NLL draft

Stealth and NLL draft

Postby Billax » Tue Aug 30, 2005 4:37 am

In last night's NLL draft Brodie Merrill of Georgetown and MLL Rookie of the year for the Baltimore Bayhawks was selected first overall by the expansion Portland team. This years crop of players is widely considered to be the deepest in years. Here are the San Jose Stealth picks in ascending order:

6th Round Will Patton (UCSB)
5th round Grant Halford (Loyola College)
4th Round Daryl Seymour (Bucknell University)
3rd Round Tony Frick (Brown University)
2nd Round Jarret Park (Syracuse University)

1st Round picks
11th overall Ed Brown (Middlebury College)
8th overall Jeff Zywicki (UMass)
6th overall Matt Vinc (Canisius College)

I believe Will Patton was the only MDIA player selected in the draft.

Congrats to Will! That seems like a large group of incoming players, how many do the Stealth carry during the season?

I believe they can dress 18 players. Maybe 3 of the 8 draftees would make the team in a normal year.

Danny Ernst of Oregon was also drafted #64 for the Portland team.

If you mean Jr. Stealth, there is a topic on this in the General Youth section.

The Stealth tryouts start this weekend.
When I make a great play it is because my opponent made me do so.

Oh that I could roll back the years. I came to this sport from hockey in Boston, and box lacrosse would have been right in my wheel house. But alas, tis' not to be. I content myself with the tuesday night league and coaching the CLC 7th & 8th graders on Sundays and the Junior Stealth later.
