NLL Scraps 2008 Season but changes mind. GAME ON EH!

Postby SNMALAX » Tue Oct 16, 2007 6:40 am

The 2008 National Lacrosse League season has been cancelled after the league and Professional Lacrosse Players' Association failed to reach agreement on a new contract. This is unfortunate news for the sport of Lacrosse and I hope that this does not impact the success of the game that's already been established.

Very sad news about the NLL. I understand the Stealth has a new local ownership group and new offices in Pleasanton. Hopefully, they can weather this storm and come back next season ready to go. I have been a season ticket holder since 2004 and enjoy going to the games at HP. More important, I'm very greatfull for the Stealth moving to the bay area (from Albany N.Y.) because it brought along some great players and teachers of this game. Without the Stealth, we wouldn't have Matt Ogelsby's All West Lacrosse Camps here in the bay area teaching our youth players the correct fundamentals as well as the finer points to the game. His camps have helped my son become a better lacrosse player. Also having Jim Moss in our back yard helping with camps and STX gear. The Stealth got Gary "Rosey" Rosinski to relocate to San Jose and he has helped with some youth programs in that area. I'm sure I'm leaving out other player with local ties but you get the point. Having the Stealth in the bay area has helped raise the level of lacrosse in the area.

Somebody need to change the title of this tread. The 2008 NLL season is back on and the San Jose Stealth will be playing ball this year. Congratulations to both sides (mgmt. & players union) on a long term contract. Please keep in touch for any updates for the 2008 season.

CNLAXSTR25...game dates

Postby Shibby » Mon Nov 05, 2007 5:19 am

that "is" awesome!

this would have been "A" list material for TV's old "Man Show".
(i truly miss the trampoline in the closing segment) LOL.......

all that's left now is to schedule appropriate events for the "boss" as i'm quite sure that any of her related "honey-do's" will be substantial.

have a great one...
Where ever I go...there I am.

I had to respond to CNLAXSTR25 posting about the Stealth and Sharks having games on the same day this season (twice). The schedule last season also had both teams playing on the same day. We arrived at HP Pavilion and enjoyed the 1:00 Sharks game. It is awesome to see and feel HP when it has 15,000+ fans screeming their lungs out. After the game we stopped by the car and grabed our lacrosse sticks. I took my son and his 2 lacrosse playing friends and walked over to the nearby park and threw the ball around for about an hour. After working up a good appetite, we walked to my favorite local resturant. If you enjoy great BBQ, I strongly
recomend "Henry's High Life". Not much "curb appeal" but great food (there are also several other resturants within walking distance of HP). With our belly's full we walked back to HP and settled in for the Stealth game. Yes, it was a long day. Yes, it was an expensive day (due mostly to the 4 Sharks tickets). But it was a day my son still talks about almost a year later. To anyone considering this, I would strongly recommed doing the "double header". There are only a few places in the USA where this can be done and San Jose is one of them. And if CNLAXSTR25 (or anyone else) does follow thru and do this, just look for me and my son at the park in between games. Maybe we could get a little 4 on 4 lacrosse game going.

get ready

Postby laxin94526 » Thu Jan 03, 2008 4:28 pm

Okay lacrosse fans, get ready for indoor lacrosse action in just 22 days. The team opens up with a road game (1/12) and the first home game is 1/25/08. The Stealth returns most of its top players from last season that took the team to the Western Division finals. They have added a few new faces and should field a very competitive team. Ticket prices have been reduced for the 2008 season. For those of you that have not been to HP Pavilion lately, they spent $17,000,000 on improvements this summer (mostly audio and video stuff). See you at the games.

STEALTH WIN IN OVERIME. Opening night for the Stealth's 2008 season started off with a game in Calgary on Saturday night. After falling behind at halftime, the Stealth came on strong in the second half and sent the game into OT. Luke Wiles had the game winner. All the details are available on the Stealth website or NLL.com. The Stealth's home opener is Friday night 1/25/08. See you at HP Pavilion.
