Dragons Home Opener

Dragons Home Opener

Postby picknroll » Mon Jun 04, 2007 4:07 pm

I went out and watched the Dragons home opener Saturday. The defense was ridiculous in the opening quarter, giving up 8 goals. The Dragons settled down and played a decent game after that, only losing 14-12 after getting down big early. They had possession and a chance for a 2 pointer at the end of the game, but never got off a shot. Ryan Powell was awesome with the assists. Matt Alrich had a couple of nice goals with the high to low from the big guy.

Attendance was sparse - around 4K. Weather was lousy and may have contributed to the low turnout. Hopefully more people will show up for the Riptide game on the 16th. Be sure and use the Examiner Family LAX-PAX if you go. You can get 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, and 4 drinks for $49. See the link below.

I watched some of the opener with the Denver Outlaws and the D was terrible in that game as well. Left the goalie to fend for himself constantly with hungry attack and middies all around him. The Outlaws also ripped several 2 pointers without even being challenged by the d who stood by and watched them shoot. Who is the d coach? Sounds like they need some help.

Sounds like they need KO at LSM.

I think maybe KO on Conan's shoulders might work... :)

Hmmmm. They'd get two poles, but KO on the shoulders might cost Conan a step or two up the field . . . . .

The only problem with the plan is that you can only play with 3 poles in the MLL. There is no LSM. :(

So why is it that they only allow three poles in MLL? I love watching a skilled defender with a long pole. I think the pole evens the odds a bit between offense and defense.

I'll admit that the defense was somewhat lacking at the Dragon's game, but the goalie sure didn't seem to be helping matters. :(
