Inside Lacrosse breaks down the semi-finals

Postby Billax » Fri Aug 25, 2006 9:24 am

An interesting article from Inside Lacrosse breaks down the teams in both of tonight's contests. It's a good read and can be found here. Go Dragons!

Outlaws Win

Postby Billax » Fri Aug 25, 2006 8:15 pm

Denver takes it: 23-14

It was actually quite easy to watch on the internet. No lag, no jerkiness, great audio. There were too few pixels on the screen to see the ball, but my eyes are so bad that, when I'm watching a game in person, I can't see the ball in the air anyway. I always watch where the defenders are moving, where the goalie's positioned and what off-ball movement is happening on offense. So, watching on a 320x240 screen was no different than watching from the stands at Kezar.

Great season, Dragons!

Billax,

Right click in the bottom menu bar of your WM player or Real Video and then select zoom. It'll give you the full screen view. I'm here in Coronado with a home theater audience of many, who are watching in disbelief as the Outlaws shoot from inside consistently. The keys to the two Dragons' wins over Denver were the play between the restraining lines and Casey Powell's point production. The Outlaws nixed both this evening. Ouch.

Anyway, see you next spring at the First 4 in S.F.

P.S. The video, when viewed on a large screen, is a bit "pixellated".

Would that I could! My Intel-based iMac doesn't yet have the plug-ins that allow me to use Windows Media Player natively.

Watching on home theater. Wow! I'm late to that party.

See you in March at the First 4. Wanna bring a Youth team up and do a couple of games? The weather up here next spring can't be any worse than this spring in San Diego.

MLL Semifinals Attendance

Postby navlax76 » Sat Aug 26, 2006 10:26 pm

Rumor has it that the attendance yesterday was in the hundreds vice thousands. Friday late afternoon, in Carson, with little to no advertising around SoCal to try and draw a crowd; what was the MLL thinking? I guess the feeble attendance is why we didn't see any crowd shots during the webcast.

The local US Lacrosse chapters aren't even organizing any group tours to the finals tomorrow, so it might be a lean crowd as well. Too bad.
