Week of May 2nd

Week of May 2nd

Postby laxtree » Mon May 02, 2011 1:13 pm

Some interesting match ups this week for EBAL teams battling both in the league standings and for NCS seeding....

Cal and Foothill play tomorrow/Tuesday in what could end up being the battle for 2nd place in EBAL.

On Friday :
Cal plays MV
While FHS plays Carondelet.

3 interesting games. Any predictions?

It's still too early to be sure, with key games yet to be played, but in light of last night's games here are my new predictions of the NCS seedings for DI:

4. Davis
5. Monte Vista
6. Amador Valley
7. Las Lomas
8. San Ramon Valley
9. Berkeley
10. Redwood
11.Campolindo
12. Dublin
13. Granada
14. Dougherty Valley
15. Livermore
16. Northgate

Flight 1 Flight 2
1 vs 16 2 vs 15
4 vs 13 3 vs 14
5 vs 12 6 vs 11
8 vs 9 7 vs 10

Second Round
Winner (1 vs 16) vs (8 vs 9) Winner (2 vs 15) vs (7 vs 10)
Winner (4 vs 13) vs (5 vs 12) Winner (3 vs 14) vs (6 vs 11)

Then just the winner in each flight (semis), then the finals

Now that there are two divisions within NCS, does anyone know for certain how many teams will be selected for the playoffs?

16 teams in each division. So 32 total.

Sorry, was assuming 16 based on what everyone has said. IMO, 12 per division would be enough (with the top 4 having byes the first round)

SI 15 AV 5,
first half 7-2, Amador just could not score (shoot)

I have a question, if you play a varsity game, how soon can you go back down and play in JV again that same season? I have heard 3 different answers: 1)immediately, if the player started the season on JV, 2) 7 days after the last game played on varsity and 3) 7 days after first playing on varsity. Is there even a rule?
